Warner learns from Calypso king Chanderpaul

The irony is that West Indies stalwart Shivnarine Chanderpaul showed Warner how to last all day at the crease yet both have achieved the remarkable feat of scoring a Test hundred in only 69 balls.

Only Viv Richards (56 balls), Adam Gilchrist (57) and Jack Gregory (67) have done it more quickly.

“I learnt this off Chanderpaul when we were at Durham,” Warner said of his stint in county cricket.

“He batted on the bowling machine for six hours.

“I said ‘this is ridiculous, how can you do this’, and he said ‘if you’re going to bat for six hours in a game you might as well practise it’.”

At his current rate, batting for six hours would make Warner more than 300.

The boy from the Matraville housing commission in Sydney’s eastern suburbs always had simple goals.

“When some people turn 18 they want to travel but I had no interest in that,” he said. “I just wanted to work and make it in cricket.”

Now work is cricket and he is travelling the world.

  1. Howdy! Do you know if they make any plugins to help with Search
Engine Optimization? I’m trying to get my site to rank for some
targeted keywords but I’m not seeing very good success.
If you know of any please share. Cheers! You can read similar art here: Wool product
