A memorable week for Shivnarine Chanderpaul on home soil culminated with him being named Man-of-the-Match for his 10th One-day International (ODI) century that led West Indies to a series-levelling, 21-run victory in the second match against England on Sunday.
GEORGETOWN, Guyana– The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has saluted West Indies batting star Shivnarine Chanderpaul for his latest accolades, including being given Guyana’s third highest national honour.
GEORGETOWN, Guyana — West Indies batting star Shivnarine Chanderpaul has received another honour from the people of Guyana. On Saturday evening the New Garden Street – outside the historic Bourda Cricket Ground – was renamed the Shivnarine Chanderpaul Drive. In making the announcement, Mr Hamilton Green, Mayor of Georgetown, said it was done to recognize Chanderpaul’s amazing performances for Guyana and West Indies on the cricket field.
