HIGHEST TEST AVERAGE AGAINST A SINGLE NATION: World Record. Shiv Chanderpaul’s 149.50 average against Bangladesh is the highest for any batsman with at least 10 innings against a single country. UNBEATEN IN EVERY INNINGS IN A TEST SERIES: World Record.  Shiv(85*, 84*, 101* vs Bangladesh in 2014) is the 2nd batsman in history with a minimum qualification of 3 innings and 200 plus runs to remain unbeaten in a test series. Jacques Kallis scored 152*, 42* AND 189* vs Zimbabwe in 2001.
4000+ TEST RUNS SCORED IN NOT OUTS: World Record.  Shiv(4094*) as of Sept 2014 is the only batsman in history to score over 4000 runs in innings in which he was not out. SWaugh scored 3337 in not outs; Kallis 3246; Border 2989; Tendulkar 2816, Dravid 1932 and Sobers 1908.
6000 TEST RUNS @HOME and AWAY: World record: Sachin Tendulkar(7266 runs @Home and 8705 runs AWAY) is the only batsman in history to score 6000 test runs both at home and away. As of Sept 2014 Shiv has scored 6095 runs at home and 5589 runs away. Shiv needs 411 runs away to become the 2nd batsman in history to score 6000 test runs both at home and away.
MOST TEST SCORES IN THE 40s: Shiv Chanderpaul and Brian Lara hold the record for most test scores in the 40s with 23 each. Tendulkar, Border, Ganguly and Jayawardene each has 22 scores in the 40s; Dravid, Pietersen and Ponting each has 21 scores in the 40s.
MOST TOP SCORES IN BOTH INNINGS OF A TEST: World Record: When Shiv topped scored in both innings against Bangladesh in St Lucia in 2014 with 84* and 101*, it marked the 9th time he topped score in each innings of a test match. Only 2 other batsmen have topped scored in both innings of a test on 9 separate occasion: England’s Ken Barrington and West Indies Brian Lara. 100+ Tests Without Getting Stumped: Shiv Chanderpaul is the only batsman in test history to have played 100+ tests without ever getting stumped. The following batsmen have played 100+ tests and have each been stumped once–Tendulkar, Kallis, M.Waugh, Jayasuriya, Boon, Atherton, and Langer.

MAIDEN HUNDREDS: Shiv was at the wicket when 6 WI batsmen(Junior Murray(1995), Sherwin Campbell(1996), Stuart Williams(1997), Jerome Taylor(2008 ), Brendan Nash (2009), and  Kirk Edwards (2011) scored their maiden test hundreds. No batsman in test history has partnered more batsmen to their maiden test hundreds than Shiv.

MOST BALLS FACED BY A WEST INDIAN IN TEST: As of Sept 2014, Shiv Chanderpaul holds the West Indies record for most balls faced in test cricket. Chanderpaul faced 26,849 balls in Test. Only Dravid(31,258), Tendulkar(29437), Kallis(28,903), and Border(27,002) have faced more balls than Shiv in tests.
MOST TEST GROUNDS: Shiv Chanderpaul hold the WI record for most test grounds played on. After 58 tests, Shiv has played on 58 test grounds. Brian Lara, who played in 131 tests, played on 45 test grounds. The world record is held by Sachin Tendulkar. During his 200 tests he has played on 59 test grounds.
MOST BALLS FACED IN A NINETH- WICKET STAND: The 222 balls faced in the ninth-wicket stand between Edwards and Chanderpaul is the highest ever for the West Indies for the ninth wicket in Tests.
MOST RUNS SCORED AT KENSINGTON OVAL, BARBADOS: As of Sept 2014, Shiv has played in 18 tests at Kensington Oval. He has scored 1452 runs at an average of 60.50 with 4 hundreds and 9 fifties. Brian Lara is the 2nd highest scorer at Kensington with1339 runs. Haynes is #3 with 1210 runs.
MOST TEST HUNDREDS VERSUS INDIA: Ponting, Richards and Sobers have each scored 8 test against India. Shiv who will be playing a 3 test series against India in Nov 2014 has 7 hundreds against India. He needs 1 hundred to join the illustrious trio.
