Results from the 2nd day of the 2010 ACC

The 2010 American College Cricket Spring Break Championship began March 17 in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. Cricket Clubs from 19 American and US Colleges are competing to win the Championship. The University of West Indies is participating as a Special Guest.

The cricket team from U of Minnesota (UMN) lost to St Cloud State.. UMN scored 113 all out.

St Cloud State made 114 whilst losing only 3 wickets.

USF lost to USC (Trojans). USC batted first and made 157 for the loss of 6 wickets.USF made only 116 iin response.

Chanderpaul now Head Coach of American College Cricket

 

LAUDERHILL – The 2008 ICC and Wisden Cricketer of the Year Shiv Chanderpaul will be Head Coach of American College Cricket, announced Lloyd Jodah, President of ACC, today.The current West Indies Test player Shivnarine Chanderpaul endowed the Chanderpaul Trophy for the Winning Team in the American College Cricket Spring Break Championship and has endorsed the Championship practically from the beginning. Never before has any active Test Cricket star been so involved in the game in the USA.

Student-athletes from 19 Universities will smash runs, hurl bouncers and make barehanded catches whilst competing for the title of National Champions  at the highly anticipated 2010 American College Cricket Spring Break Championships.Nearly 50 games will be played on 4 fields.
 

Cricket Clubs from Ohio State (OSU), Auburn University, College of Wooster,George Mason (GMU), Rutgers University, Boston University (BU), U of Southern California (USC) , York College (NY), University of Miami (UM), U of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), University of Minnesota (UMN), George Washington U (GWU), Thunderbird School of Global Management, York University (Toronto), University of St Cloud, U of South Florida (USF), U of Pennsylvania (UPenn) and New York University (NYU) will challenge 2009 defending Champions Montgomery College for the prestigious Shiv Chanderpaul Trophy.

Chanderpaul affirms support for the 2010 American College Cricket Spring Break Championship

On the heels of staging the historic and succesful American College Cricket Spring Break Championship ’09, American College Cricket’s Lloyd Jodah and Nino DiLoreto are gearing up for the 2010 Championship.
 

The first order of business was meeting with Chris Thakoorpersad, Manager of the 2008 ICC and Wisden Cricketer of the Year Shiv Chanderpaul. Thakoorpersad affirmed Chanderpaul’s longterm commitment to supporting College Cricket in the United States and said.
