West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul scored his second century of the English County season to put Lancashire in a strong position at the end of the third day of its Division One match against Kent in Canterbury yesterday.

As Guyana prepares to travel to South Africa, following its thrilling victory in the Caribbean T20, it is incumbent on the selectors to choose the best possible team to represent the country. CRICKET: Shivnarine Chanderpaul held Lancashire’s batting together with a maiden hundred for the county against Hampshire at the Rose Bowl today.
The prolific West Indian left hander, who hit 92 on debut in last week’s draw at Durham, helped his side recover from 41-3 on the opening day of their County Championship match with a fine 118 off 217 balls.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul will be honoured on Sunday for his outstanding contributions in his profession, as part of the Indian Arrival Committee (IAC) activities to commemorate the 172nd anniversary of the arrivals of Indians in Guyana.
